Case Study — Line Marking

Nissan Manukau — a carpark re-marked for safety and flow

A full line marking project across the staff and customer carparks at Nissan Manukau, part of the Eagers Automotive dealership precinct.

Nissan Manukau dealership carpark with new yellow accessible parking and safety line marking by AAA Signs

Nissan Manukau is a busy, high-traffic dealership site — customers arriving for sales and service, staff and courtesy vehicles moving through constantly, deliveries, and pedestrians crossing between the showroom, the service drive-through and the car park. The old line marking had worn down and no longer gave staff or visitors a clear, confident read on where to park, where to walk, or where vehicles had right of way.

We were brought in to re-mark the site from the ground up: numbered customer bays, dedicated staff and EV parking, accessible parking clearly called out in yellow, pedestrian crossings through the vehicle drive-through, directional arrows at the exit, and hazard striping around pillars, bollards and the building edge. The brief was simple — make the whole site easier and safer to move through, for everyone using it.

Why It Matters

What good carpark line marking actually does

01

Clear Wayfinding

Numbered bays, directional arrows and exit markings mean customers and staff know exactly where to go without guessing or blocking the drive-through.

02

Pedestrian Safety

High-visibility yellow crossings through the service drive-through give people a clearly marked, predictable path across an area vehicles are constantly moving through.

03

Accessible Parking

Accessible bays are marked boldly and consistently, close to the entrance, so mobility parking is unmistakable and always available where it's needed.

04

Lower Site Risk

Speed zone markings, hazard striping around pillars and bollards, and a clearly separated staff car park reduce the everyday risk of a busy dealership site.

Staff Carpark & Public Layout

One site, two layouts, both re-marked for ease of use

A dealership site like this really runs as two carparks in one: a customer-facing front and service drive-through that has to stay clear, obvious and welcoming, and a staff and EV parking area behind it that needs to run efficiently every day without getting in the way of customer traffic. We re-marked both to their own logic rather than treating the whole site as one generic carpark.

Public & Customer Layout

  • Numbered bays directly outside the showroom and service reception.
  • Accessible parking marked in bold yellow, close to the entrance doors.
  • Pedestrian crossings painted straight through the vehicle drive-through.
  • Directional exit arrows and a marked 5km/h zone through the covered service area.

Staff Carpark

  • Clearly numbered staff bays, separated from customer parking.
  • Dedicated EV charging bay marked and kept clear.
  • Pedestrian walkways between the staff car park and the building.
  • Consistent yellow hazard lines around pillars, bollards and building edges.
