These terms apply to work supplied by AAA Signs Ltd, including signage, vehicle wraps, boat wraps, print, branding, design, fabrication, installation, delivery and related services. By accepting a quote, paying a deposit, approving artwork or asking us to begin work, you agree to these terms unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded under New Zealand law, including applicable rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986.
Quotes and estimates
- Quotes are based on the information available at the time, including supplied measurements, photos, artwork, site details and vehicle information.
- Unless stated otherwise, quotes are valid for 30 days.
- Prices may change if the scope, measurements, artwork, materials, access requirements, urgency or installation conditions change.
- Errors or omissions in a quote may be corrected once identified.
- GST, freight, travel, access equipment, permits or council costs may be additional unless specifically included.
Deposits and payment
- A deposit may be required before design, production, ordering materials or booking installation.
- Deposits cover planning, administration, design time, materials and booking of production capacity and may be non-refundable once work has started.
- Final payment is due before collection, delivery or installation unless we have approved account terms in writing.
- Goods remain the property of AAA Signs until paid for in full.
- Overdue accounts may incur recovery costs, collection costs and any other costs reasonably incurred to recover payment.
Artwork, files and approvals
Artwork approval is an important production checkpoint. Please check spelling, phone numbers, colours, layout, measurements, quantities and placement carefully before approving.
- Production begins after written, email, message or signed approval.
- Once approved, changes may require extra design time, reprinting, remaking or rescheduling at additional cost.
- Colours can vary between screens, proofs, printed vinyl, paper, acrylic, illuminated signage and other materials.
- Supplied logos and artwork must be high enough quality for the intended use. Redrawing or repairing files may be charged separately.
- You confirm that you have permission to use any logos, images, fonts, artwork, trademarks or content you provide to us.
Design ownership and use
Unless agreed otherwise, AAA Signs retains ownership of working files, production files, design concepts, editable layouts and internal production setup files we create. Once paid for, you may use the final approved artwork for the purpose it was supplied.
Editable source files, vehicle templates, production-ready cut files, layered design files or native artwork files may be supplied by agreement and may attract an additional fee.
Production and timeframes
- Timeframes are estimates unless confirmed in writing as fixed deadlines.
- Production can be affected by artwork approval delays, material availability, machine downtime, weather, site access, courier delays, customer changes or third-party delays.
- Urgent work may attract rush fees and depends on available production capacity.
- We may make reasonable production decisions to achieve the approved result, including joins, panel splits, fixing methods, material substitutions of similar quality or installation sequencing.
Installation access and site conditions
You are responsible for making sure the site, vehicle, boat or surface is ready and accessible at the agreed time.
- Vehicles and boats must be clean, dry and available for the agreed installation time.
- Walls, windows, panels and other surfaces must be suitable, stable, clean and free from loose paint, dust, moisture, rust, silicone, oil or other contamination.
- You must disclose known surface issues, previous resprays, repairs, coatings, leaks, damage or access restrictions.
- Extra costs may apply if we arrive and cannot safely or properly complete the work due to site conditions, access issues or customer delay.
- We may refuse to install where the surface or site conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.
Vehicle wraps and paint condition
Vehicle wraps and graphics rely on the condition of the paint and surface underneath. Vinyl is designed to adhere to sound, factory-quality paint in good condition.
- We are not responsible for paint, clear coat or surface damage caused by existing poor paint, rust, stone chips, previous resprays, body filler, peeling clear coat or hidden defects.
- Vinyl removal from older wraps, damaged paint or non-factory finishes carries extra risk and may require additional labour.
- Wrap life depends on material choice, exposure, vehicle use, washing, storage, climate and care.
- Care instructions should be followed to help protect the finish and reduce lifting, fading or premature wear.
Cancellations and changes
- If you cancel after approval or after work has started, you may be charged for design time, administration, materials, production, supplier costs and any completed work.
- Custom printed, cut, fabricated or ordered items usually cannot be cancelled once production has started.
- Changes requested after approval may affect price and timeframe.
Delivery, collection and storage
- Delivery and freight are at the customer's risk once goods are handed to the courier, unless we agree otherwise.
- Please inspect goods on collection or delivery and contact us promptly if there is a problem.
- Storage fees may apply if completed work is not collected or installed within a reasonable time after we notify you it is ready.
Warranty and workmanship
We stand behind our workmanship and will assess genuine issues fairly. Warranty coverage depends on the product, material, surface, installation method, location, exposure and manufacturer terms.
- Warranty does not cover misuse, impact damage, vandalism, accidents, incorrect cleaning, pressure washing too closely, chemical exposure, poor surface condition, customer-supplied installation, third-party alteration or normal wear and tear.
- Outdoor signage, marine graphics and vehicle wraps naturally weather over time.
- Manufacturer warranties, where available, are subject to the manufacturer's current terms and the suitability of the chosen product.
- Any issue must be reported promptly with photos and project details so we can assess it.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, AAA Signs is not liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, downtime or consequential loss. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the relevant goods or services, except where the law does not allow that limitation.
Business customers
Where goods or services are supplied for business purposes, the parties agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 may be contracted out of to the extent permitted by that Act. This does not affect guarantees or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Website use
Website content is provided for general information. While we try to keep information accurate, final project advice, pricing and suitability depend on the specific job. Website images, text, graphics and project content must not be copied or reused without permission.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any dispute will be handled in New Zealand unless we agree otherwise in writing.
