Signage near the coast takes more of a beating than signage inland — salt-laden air accelerates corrosion on fixings and can dull cheaper vinyl faster than UV exposure alone would. We spec materials and fixings with that in mind for anything going up near Takapuna's beachfront strip.
The Hurstmere Road / The Strand retail and hospitality strip has a similar brief to other dense shopping streets — shopfront signage that reads well at footpath distance — but with the added coastal durability question layered on top.
We already work with marine-grade cast vinyl and UV laminate for boat wraps, so the material knowledge for coastal-durable signage isn't a stretch for us — it's the same durability problem from a different angle.
